- Add the chicken pieces to the mixture, making sure each piece is fully coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken to the pan in a single layer. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the orange juice, chicken broth, sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, orange zest, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water.
- Once the sauce has come to a boil, slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan, whisking continuously.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Add the cooked chicken to the saucepan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Serve the orange chicken over a bed of rice and garnish with sliced green onions.
