- In a large saucepan, bring the chopped potatoes to a boil in salted water. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and mash with milk and butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spoon the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the pie is heated through.
