- 1 pound macaroni pasta
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook the macaroni pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour to the melted butter and whisk to combine, forming a roux.
- Gradually pour in the whole milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
- Add the salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to the sauce and continue to whisk until it thickens.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s melted and combined with the sauce.
- Add the cooked macaroni pasta to the sauce and stir to coat evenly.
- Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the pasta.
- Bake the pasta in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove the pasta from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped fresh parsley.
