Whole Wheat Cheese Rolls

- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup shredded cheese of your choice (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)

- In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the warm water and olive oil to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it into a large rectangle.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Roll the dough up tightly, starting from one of the long sides.
- Cut the roll into slices, about 1 inch thick.
- Place the slices, cut-side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the Whole Wheat Cheese Rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly golden.
