- Gradually add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, using a spatula to mix until the dough begins to come together.
- If the dough is too dry, add additional water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it comes together in a ball.
- Divide the dough in half and shape into two discs. Wrap each disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out each disc of dough to your desired thickness.
- Place the dough into your tart pan or pie dish, pressing it into the bottom and up the sides.
- Trim the edges of the dough as needed and prick the bottom of the dough with a fork.
- Bake the sweet shortcrust pastry for 10-12 minutes, or until it is lightly golden brown.
- Fill with your desired filling and continue baking as instructed.
